Got a killer dessert recipe? Looking for a delicious way to show off your skills? If your answer is.... yes!! why not registering for the Christmas Dessert Competition at school on 17 December before 19.00h?  Bring us your best Pastrie, Pie or Pudding dessert. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a wonderful Christmas Basket assorted with all kinds of Christmas specials. Second and Third Prize Finalists will also receive a prize. THE EOI ON THE RADIO!!

From 7 to 11 December you will be able to listen to some of the students at our school talking on the radio.... Carlos, a teacher of the Galician Department, our French teacher assistant and a couple of students will turn into radio celebrities for a week!! Do not miss them live at 11.26 and 11.56 on Onda Cero (103.6) from Monday to Friday next week!! For more information on how the activity has taken place you can have a look here.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday of November. It precedes Black Friday and one of the major holidays of the year, together with Christmas and New Year.

It is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal, which often  includes a turkey and pumpkin pie. It is a time for people to give thanks for what they have. Lots of parades are held in cities and towns and they mark the opening of the Christmas shopping season.

I would like to inform you that it is time to.... relax!!! The school library is organising a great activity for students to  share their reading experiences in different languages. The last week before Christmas will be time for English, of course!! So, don´t miss the opportunity to bring in your favourite book and talk about it. I´ll let you know about it in class!!! Just ask!!!

BOOK CLUB AT VALLE INCLÁN HIGH SCHOOL

Why not joining the book discussion club at Valle Inclán High School? A great opportunity to make new friends and have a chat in English. Members have to read the first eight chapters of THE BOOK THIEF by Markus Zusak and go to the meeting on 1 December (Room 5).

OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY

Every school worth the name has a library of its own and our school library is one of the assets to our school. It is the treasure house of knowledge where we keep not only books but also films, magazines, CDs... that students can take home and enjoy.

If you are interested in becoming a member or in finding out information on loan periods, fines, etc., you should not miss the meeting next week. You will learn how to receive your library card or how to renew your old one and much more!! Read the user´s manual first to get to know the library and how it works. Hope it helps you improve a lot!!
