SCHOOL LIBRARY ACTIVITIES: COME AND JOIN US!

Our school library is now involved in planning two activities that will definitely provide our students with great opportunities to foster a culture of extensive reading and knowledge. You may have a look at these two links below to get informed:

• Book recommendations: Write your own review to let other readers know about books you are interested in and get inspiration from eager readers to come across great book adventures.
• A tour around the city of Pontevedra with Mª Victoria Moreno: Send the school library an email to register for this walking tour around the city next 25 November.

#WORLD BOOK DAY

We are willing to celebrate World Book Day at school for the year 2020-2021. Here are the projects that students have shared to help us find new reading adventures. A PERFECT SUMMER BREAK

Dear all, 

I am sure you all agree with me on the fact that this has been a very weird year. However, that does not necessarily mean summer must also be odd, or does it? If you want to make a difference this season, how about embarking on a new experience? Visit our online library and indulge in the valuable resources it provides. Whether you are on a staycation or getting away, this is just the perfect site to take with you! Staying safe does not mean bored! 💪

SCHOOL LIBRARY RETURN SERVICE

Our school has been drawing up guidelines to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. One of the safety measures has been taken by our school library team. They have just set up a new book return service. Books will have to be returned to the library following the steps above. Give us a call and we will be more than glad to get all your library stuff back under the safest circumstances!

SCHOOL LIBRARY SURVEY

First and foremost, I would like to thank all the students who have already used our library service to enhance our school community life. As part of our project to improve school facilities, we would like to identify new needs to set a course for the future. We want to learn a lot more about you! Why have you used our school library and what is your experience of it? We are inviting everyone to take a bit of their time to complete the quick survey below before 21 June. We want everyone to help us make the library a place they want to be. Your insights and feedback will step up our efforts. Thanks a lot in advance!

BLIND DATES ARE COMING BACK!

Our school library team is back and better than ever to warm up your hearts with a wide range of blind date options to celebrate Saint Valentine's Day! Let's welcome February at the library. Who knows? You might hit it off straight away!

A COFFEE AND A CHAT AT THE SCHOOL LIBRARY

As any teacher would tell you, the classroom isn't the only place where learning happens. Extending teaching far beyond the classroom walls offers a chance to engage and empower our students. That is why I keep looking for ways to harness their interests and passions with out-of-the-classroom activities.

Last week was time for "Café con Letras", a library-based activity carried out by our school library team. We went down to the library and had a great chat over a coffee and a snack. The main topic was "stereotypes" and what lies behind them. 

I would like to thank my students for their passion and motivation every time we do this activity. It has always proved to be fun, enjoyable and a complete success!

Arousing my students' interest and curiosity at the library tables has been a pleasure. That is why I keep going every year. In fact, I am already looking forward to our next "Café con Letras" experience!  

A COFFEE AND A CHAT AT THE SCHOOL LIBRARY

Our library has opened its doors to our traditional "Café con Letras", which has become a classic speaking activity at school that both teachers and students love. I will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity that the school library team gives us every year to move my students forward and get them to talk over a coffee and a nice snack.

I would also like to thank both my school and my students alike for their passion and motivation when carrying out this activity. It will definitely be really rewarding to find the class going on with their discussions even once the lesson has already come to an end! This is what really makes teaching worth it! Arousing my students' interest and curiosity at the library tables will be a delight. That is why I keep going every year. In fact, I am already looking forward to next week's "Café con Letras" experience! How about you?

On October 24 we are celebrating the day of school libraries. It will definitely be a great occasion for our students to go and explore the wide range of both learning and discovery opportunities our school library provides.

VIRTUAL SCHOOL LIBRARY

Our library volunteers have been carrying out a great project! As a result, we now have a new virtual library at the EOI. Isn't it amazing? Visit the library, sit at one of the computers and download the free books to your e-reader, simply because reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body! Isn't that a fair enough reason to do it?

BOOK DAY

As you all know, next Monday is Book Day and it will be time to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and, most of all, reading.
