Welcome to HAVE FUN WITH ENGLISH

I would like to welcome all students at the EOI Pontevedra to a blog where they will find a lot of information about the school together with a wide range of activities to practise and improve their English. I´m sure most of them will find the activities in the blog both amusing and enjoyable! Hope you learn a lot... and please, let me know if there is anything you want me to include!!

EXAM STRESS!!!

Most students at school are taking their exams by the end of the month and most of them will also probably get stressed during the exam period, but it is important not to let it get out of control. A little bit of stress can be a good thing, as it motivates us to work hard. However, exams can make stress levels get out of hand, which can prevent us from total success!!

Here are some tips on how to deal with exam stress and get excellent results!!!

I just would like to wish you all good luck and do not forget that there is life after exams!!

CONVERSATION ASSISTANT FOR THE NEW YEAR!!

I am glad to inform you that our English Department has just been appointed a new foreign language assistant for the school year 2014-2015.
Her name is Bonnie Cooper. She is from Newmarket, Ontario, in Canada and she will presumably be involved with conversation classes. She lives in Pontevedra and is already working at our school community. She is a conversation teacher with Materlingua, our students' association. We are looking forward to having Bonnie here next week. So, let´s get ready to give her a warm welcome!!

NEW YEAR´S RESOLUTIONS

New Year's Resolutions are a bit like babies: They are fun to make but extremely difficult to maintain. In January a great deal of people resolve to better themselves in some way. A much smaller amount actually make good on those resolutions. Whereas some people stick to their goals for at least a week, fewer are still on target six months later. It's hard to keep the enthusiasm months after you've swept up the confetti, but it's not impossible!! This year let us know some of your resolutions and stick with them.

Here are some good examples:

lose weight, quit smoking, save money, get fit, take a trip, reduce, reuse, recycle, manage stress...

Which steps are you going to take to achieve your goals for this New Year?? Tell us all about your New Year's Resolutions on the comments below!!
